Smooth Via is a pastor and church planter in East Africa. He, his wife Kelly, and their 6 kids live in Jinja, Uganda where they work with Arise Africa International, a native organization. Although they had been involved in short-term projects in Uganda since 2001, it wasn’t until they failed to acquire a visa for their adopted daughter Chloe that they decided to make their home in Uganda in 2014. If they couldn’t bring Chloe home, then they would take home to Chloe. Since that day, they have helped plant more than 20 churches, seen thousands become followers of Jesus, helped provide free medical care in villages around the country, and even helped save vulnerable street kids from a violent sexual predator. They don’t feel much like missionaries. They have just always tried to follow Jesus wherever he leads. It’s not always easy, but it’s always worth it.
