Evangelicals For Life 2020

What does it mean to be pro-life? As Christians, we believe that every human being has dignity and worth. Our pro-life beliefs should be at the heart of everything we do - from the way we defend the unborn to how we care for the elderly; from how we treat immigrants and refugees to how we reach out to those being trafficked against their will. In a world that increasingly disrespects and devalues life, passive beliefs aren’t enough to make a difference. This generation needs new voices and new champions for life.

Now, more than ever, we need a new movement of the reborn standing up for the unborn. We need people who are willing to put their convictions into action in ways that serve the community around them. For some, that may mean opening their homes to foster care or even adoption. For some, that might mean volunteering in a pregnancy resource center or ministering to single mothers in their community. For others, that might mean working to change laws in order to allow the vulnerable to flourish. Regardless of the specific task God calls us to, we all can make a difference.

When you come to Washington, D.C. and attend Evangelicals for Life, you’ll have the opportunity to get practical training and tools that will prepare you to advocate for life. You’ll also experience the largest pro-life protest march in the world and return to your community energized and equipped to make a real difference in the fight for life.

Through keynotes, breakout sessions, and panel discussions, you’ll learn from speakers, activists, and legal experts on the front lines of the fight for life. You’ll also be able to meet and interact with representatives from pro-life organizations who can connect you to opportunities to get involved. Finally, you’ll march on the National Mall with hundreds of thousands of other pro-life individuals as you make your voice heard and call for an end to the tragedy of abortion.

We want everyone who attends Evangelicals for Life to go back to their communities with useful tools and knowledge for practical pro-life activism. As we work towards this goal, we’ll tackle important topics and tough questions like these:

- What does it mean to live pro-life?
- What can we do right now in our own communities to save lives?
- How can we effectively advocate for the unborn at the local, state, and federal level?
- How can we minister to single mothers in our churches or even our own families?
- How can churches start pro-life ministries?
- How should we counsel women who may be considering an abortion?
- How can we stand for life in ways that go beyond social media activism?
- Why should our beliefs motivate us to stand for the lives of immigrants, the elderly, and the disabled?
- How can we effectively share our pro-life beliefs with pro-choice friends and family members?

Imagine what it would look like for Christians everywhere to be a voice for the voiceless, to support the most vulnerable, and to stand up for those who cannot stand up for themselves. If you’re ready to make a difference, come to Evangelicals for Life and get equipped to stand for life!

The Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission is an entity of the Southern Baptist Convention. The ERLC is dedicated to engaging the culture with the gospel of Jesus Christ and speaking to issues in the public square for the protection of religious liberty and human flourishing. Our vision can be summed up in three words: kingdom, culture and mission.

The North American Mission Board exists to connect every Southern Baptist church to its next missional opportunity. It equips and empowers church leaders to move the people in their churches out of the pews and into ministry action through Send Network church planting initiatives, Send Relief compassion and mercy ministry opportunities, and additional resources, tools and events.
