Kristen K. Waggoner serves as Senior Vice President of the U.S. Legal Division and Communications and General Counsel (AZ) with Alliance Defending Freedom. She oversees ADF’s U.S. litigation, legislative support, and public advocacy. Since she assumed this role, ADF has prevailed as lead counsel in eight U.S. Supreme Court victories, including Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission, which she argued at the Supreme Court and won. She continues as lead counsel in Arlene’s Flowers v. State of Washington (wedding floral designer), which the Supreme Court remanded to the lower courts. She also served as counsel for the free speech victory that the Supreme Court handed down in National Institute of Family and Life Advocates v. Becerra. Kristen clerked for Washington Supreme Court Justice Richard B. Sanders. She was also a partner with Ellis, Li & McKinstry, a Seattle law firm. She is Peer Review Rated AV® PreeminentTM in Martindale-Hubbell. Kristen is a national speaker on legal and cultural issues and has appeared on FOX News, CNN, NBC, CBS Sunday Morning, ABC’s This Week, The View, and NBC’s Megyn Kelly Today Show. Kristen is admitted to practice in Washington, Oregon, Arizona, and Florida and many federal courts as well.
